Eric Kostegan brings over 25 years of experience building and leading innovative philanthropic and venture programs across climate, healthcare, and sustainable development. He serves as Chief of Strategic Partnerships at Spark Climate Solutions, where he develops high-impact collaborations with philanthropists, foundations, and the private sector to accelerate underfunded climate priorities.
Previously, Eric served as Chief Development Officer of the WHO Foundation, where he led the organization’s shift from urgent pandemic response toward long-term sustainability, advancing global campaigns and forging major philanthropic partnerships to strengthen health systems. As inaugural Managing Director and Chief Philanthropy Officer at Climate Lead, he directed a global campaign that mobilized new climate donors and deepened collaboration with major foundations. At Mount Sinai Health System, he pioneered nontraditional funding models, including impact philanthropy and venture partnerships, while expanding international engagement across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. At Massachusetts General Hospital, he created its first international development and partnership framework, establishing global advisory boards and securing new institutional partners across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Eric’s expertise lies in navigating complex challenges, cultivating transformational gifts, and aligning diverse stakeholders around systemic change. His work has spanned geographies from Europe to Asia to the Americas, engaging governments, philanthropies, and corporations to unlock new resources for global challenges.
