Spark Climate Solutions is accelerating progress in emerging climate fields, towards repairing the climate. Spark focuses on high-leverage, under-resourced solution areas and takes a systems approach, collaboratively working with experts and other stakeholders, to accelerate these fields by building strategic roadmaps, providing research funding, seeding new organizations, and communicating with the public. Spark’s first focus area is accelerating solutions for near-term warming management, starting with enteric fermentation mitigation and methane removal. Our team has deep expertise in science, engineering, and climate-focused philanthropy. Spark’s funders include the Grantham Foundation, Quadrature Climate Foundation, Astera Institute, Climate Pathfinders Foundation, and Additional Ventures.

Position Summary

Spark Climate Solutions is seeking an Operations Analyst to support the development and delivery of excellent processes in grant management, human resources, finance, and operations. The Operations Analyst will manage and execute tasks to keep Spark’s processes on-track. This is an exciting opportunity to join a quickly growing team and learn how operational processes are developed and managed, while supporting work that will have a meaningful impact on our climate future.

Responsibilities

Maintain and execute detailed operational rhythms, including the daily operational tasks that ensure the organization stays on track and tracking the inputs needed for the quarterly review process
Manage the intake, execution, and ongoing coordination of outgoing grants, including facilitating appropriate grant review sessions, check-ins, and disseminating information in collaboration with other team members
Review and update operational processes as needed to ensure they serve the team’s needs
Directly project manage and execute the logistics portion of events such as research convenings and employee offsites
Coordinate meetings involving multiple stakeholders

Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
1+ years related experience
Demonstrated history of teamwork, including a willingness to jump in to help accomplish tasks
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to learn software programs, and, ideally, experience using Asana, Notion, and/or Lever
Insatiable drive to learn about the climate problem and help drive solutions
Fluency in English

Location

As with all positions at Spark Climate Solutions, this will be 100% remote. Employees can work anywhere within the United States, or internationally with approval. Our center of gravity is in the SF Bay Area, with a possible option (not requirement) of some in-person work later in 2022.

Eligibility

Able to work as a W2 employee for a US non-profit.

At least 5 overlapping work hours with US Pacific time work day (9am-5pm PT).

Compensation

These are all full-time positions with benefits. The salary range for an Operations Associate is $60,000-$90,000 / year. In addition, Spark Climate Solutions provides exceptional benefits including flexible PTO, sick time, holidays, generous health insurance coverage, and full-covered dental/vision/life insurance, and parental leave.
